Review of Paranormal Activity (2007) by Wesley L — 20 Oct 2013
The thing that "Paranormal Activity" did so well was to reboot the 'found footage' genre in a creepy way. But the issue was that it started a seemingly generic and lazy method of filmmaking revolution.
The film's premise aims to make the characters believable, yet it fails miserably as they are all very two dimensional and just make really stupid decisions. Though PA shot a new form of film back into the world of horror, the lack of overall creativity and obvious budget constraints make the film and it's goal fall flat.
