I honestly didn't think I'd like it as much as I did -- probably had to do with the mitigated fear that comes from watching it on video vs. theatre. In any case, it is the Blair Witch of the startle you, jump out at you spooky movies.
It's a plus being set in San Diego -- where I grew up.
