Why have I not seen this earlier? The answer is simple... I'm an enormous puss and the thought of watching this absolutely terrified me. But finally having someone else to watch it with me (and act brave for) meant I got to enjoy this gem of a spooker.
All the right elements are in place - suspense and dread, idiotically brave boyfriend, wary psychic, and the home video format gives it a great level of veracity that had me on the edge of my seat.
