Review of Paranormal Activity 2 (2010) by John B — 26 Nov 2011

Yep, that's right. You can obviously tell what the blog is about, right away. I was suckered in to watch "Paranormal Activity 2″, even though, after how disappointing the first Paranormal Activity was, I thought, I would at least check it out. Seeing as it was on Foxtel during the week. So, I record it... and, well, I kind of wish I hadn't now.

Prior to watching the second film (being a prequel), I honestly didn't even like the first film. It just didn't do it for me. Sure, some parts were occasionally "jumpy-scary", but, I don't think it warranted me to watch the next movie. And, well, I obviously did, sadly.

I kind of refuse to go into much detail about the film, honestly - nothing much happened. It was pretty much like the first movie with: 1) introduction to the characters, 2) it's night time, 3) room shakes, 4) stuff falls, 5) fire in the kitchen, 6) doors slam shut, 7) dog gets killed, 8.) the sisters sister becomes possessed, 9) the sisters sister kills the sister and her lover, 10) the end.

Honestly, that was the movie in one-go. Nothing else happened, at all. Nothing fancy, and, well, just like the Hangover: Part Two, you're pretty much paying to see the same thing twice. Completely not worth it.

I understand this movie makes a lot of money, and that's a completely awesome thing for Paramount Pictures, Tod Williams (Director), Michael Perry, Christopher London, Tom Pabst (The Writers), and Jason Blum (Producer) and Oren Peli (Producer/Creator). And heck, that's an awesome thing, because the first film made a lot of movie for the makers, and, well, it's always great to see a new film franchise come out of Hollywood.

Paranormal Activity 3 has came out today. And I truly don't plan on seeing it, at all. It just doesn't interest me. But, once it has been on TV, then I will sit down and watch it. But until then, this is the end of my type of review.
