Despite the poor reviews this sequel received, I actually thought it was okay. It tried to be the first film, but bigger. The ending disappointed me, and some of the sequences were pretty repetitive. The poor reviews, however, are understandable.
Once you've seen the first instalment, the novelty of the franchise can somewhat wear off.
