The narrative starts and stops a few times and then kinda goes nowhere, but who needs a story with such elegant photography? The close-ups on Gabe Nevins expressionless face are incredible. Probably impossible to get that kind of performance from a proffessional actor.
All due respect to Chis Doyle then, but it's the grainy super-8 shots courtesy of wonderkid Rain Li that really gets me going here. Hypnotic I tell you. She'd do wonders with Wong Kar Wai anytime.
