Review of Paranoid Park (2007) by Generoso F — 14 Dec 2008
After years of trite Hollywood nonsense (Good Will Hunting, Finding Forrester) or well meaning indie nonsense (Elephant and Last Days) Van Zant has reached far back into his past as a edgy filmmaker and produced a film that is both bold in it's narrative and daring it's visual scope (thank you Chris Doyle).
Using non professional skateboader/actors tha Van Zant found through myspace he stirringly tells the story of a boy who is involved in the death of railroad cop. This is exciting and amazingly original work.
