Review of Paranoid Park (2007) by Michael L — 10 Jan 2009
Dreamy and melancholy, this is another somewhat experimental film from Gus Van Sant in the style of his Elephant and Gerry films. The camerawork is deft and the meditation on the beauty and angst of the teenager is deepened by the plight of the main character, who carries the added burden of having caused the death of a stranger.
