Review of Paranoid Park (2007) by Ryan H — 27 Apr 2009
Between Paranoid Park, Elephant, and Gerry, this one is the most accessible. However, I felt like there were some shots that Van Sant used simply because he needed to fill up more time. I loved the majority of shots, the music in each scene, and his ability to keep the audience a part of the film.
Just knowing that Alex has written everything that we saw makes the audience aware that not everything happened the way we saw it which creates a lot of mystery of what Alex is trying to say.
