Review of Paranoid Park (2007) by David S — 31 May 2009
Elliptical take on a teen's coming to terms in his own involvement with a murder as well as his dissociation with anything other than what's in his own head. In this way the film is very much about typical teenage feelings, and the method by which the film was shot and constructed amplifies this effect.
But van Sant lets the story goes on too long for the points he's trying to make, and he made more and better points in his own Elephant.
