Review of Paradise Now (2005) by Scott P — 07 Nov 2008
Paradise Now risky as it is important. The film follows two normal Palestinian men 48 hours before their mission as suicide bombers. Its a very engaging film, psychologically your glued to the screen because your unsure when the bombs tied to them will explode. Paradise Now also humanizes these characters. This film gives us some insight as to what these "freedom fighters'' or "terrorists" go through before they complete their mission. They truly feel this is a mission from God and that's what makes this movie more interesting.
The filmmakers build suspense with hardly any music. Its slow at times, but well worth the journey.
