Review of Paradise Now (2005) by Ivan L — 19 Jan 2010
This is a film about a very sensitive subject - two young men about about to become suicide bombers in Tel Aviv.
THis film is well-paced, fast and slow in the right parts. The main characters are developed and the supporting characters add depth to the film. There's depth, humour and suspense, it's very well-rounded and economical which is very pleasing to watch.
I also like how it showed the situation objectively, much like a documentary. All sides were accounted for, and it did not force a particular viewpoint.
All in all, this is a very tidy, efficient film, that tells you what it needs to, and leaves you to ponder.
