Review of Paradise Lost 2: Revelations (2000) by Tristan G — 19 Nov 2007
This is the disturbing follow-up to one of the most disturbing documentaries ever made, PARADISE LOST:THE CHILD MURDERS AT ROBIN HOOD HILLS. This takes place five or six years after the first documentary.
This is basically all about the situation with the West Memphis Three. There is now a WM3 following of people who know that they didn't do it and will stop at nothing to get them out of there. Also, we get interviews with the three in jail and they discuss what they've experienced and all the horrible things that they've felt since they've gotten there.
Also, one of the victims' step dad is accused of being the real murderer. The film partly follows his futile efforts to prove them wrong. His wife also just so conveniently happens to be dead. He says that she died of a broken heart as her son was killed, and yet during a series of questions, he accidentally slips out that she was murdered.
He prepares to do a lie detector test, but fails the practice test. He then takes mood elevating drugs and passes. He also just so happens to have false teeth, a criminal record, and a history of exhibiting disturbing behavior.
He also stole his own step son's medication. Meanwhile, Damien's child is still growing while Jesse and Jason's lives are slowly collapsing. Also, bite marks of some kind have been found on one of the child victim's bodies.
These prints appear to match the teeth marks of the step father, although nobody can be sure since he now has false teeth. He may have knocked his own teeth out, or perhaps they were punched out by a hoodlum.
.. Look, this is ridiculous. The West Memphis Three are innocent. This is a much more graphic and unflinching documentary than the first one, and this helps to drive home the fact that these guys didn't do shit.
