Review of Paradise Lost 2: Revelations (2000) by Jeannie J — 12 Apr 2010
I was disappointed with this after the first part. Where the first part was unbiased and a perfect example of documentarians being at the right place at the right time, this part abandoned this. The film instead depicts Mark Byers as a monster and makes no alternative than the three original boys being wrongly sentenced.
And while this does appear to be the case, this follow up gives us no revelations that differenciated it from the first part. The film also reeks of self glorification with every mention to the importance of the first film.
All of this being said, the film does draw to light an important subject and, what is most probably, a great injustice.
