The second part is even more disturbing than the first; hysteria is after all irrational. but to stand by wrongful judgements long after they've seriously been compromised is just shocking. sheer obstinacy.
and irresponsibility. and well, yes, irrationality. or simply cowardice - to admit one was wrong.
