Review of Paprika (2006) by Max P — 21 Dec 2009
David Lynch influence and giant naked woman FTW ! Trippy, surreal, but not too complex, Paprika is a great journey through the land of dream and reality, where the border between both becomes less and less thick.
Well, what to say about the animation ? Even that it's no Ghibli, it's still visually dazzling and stunning ...(love the Parade(s)). Storywise it's also great and not as hard to follow as I thought it would be, the critics are moron if they don't understand it (okay, maybe that's a bit too harsh, but all the explanation for the dream sequences are already in the film, and anime tends to left some questions unanswered).
