Review of Paprika (2006) by Julie R — 04 Dec 2008
The first thing that sticks out in this movie is WITHOUT A DOUBT, the music. Susumu Hirasawa made a soundtrack that is almost like experiencing a musical dream. The movie is centered around dreams so given that the plot is while not hard to follow, definetly very wierd.
Once you get passed that, you see the idea and concept as truly brilliant and somewhat startling. Don't work yourself too hard on figuring it out that's a bit pointless. Accept the beautiful parts of it and rewatch it so you can better understand its symbolism's and story.
