Review of Paprika (2006) by John A — 19 Jul 2011
I liked the ideas of the film a great deal, as it explores the way that terrorism and its resulting fears lead to fruitless attempts to avoid reality through retrieving the innocence of childhood. Implied in the action is the question of whether to embrace reality or retreat from it.
The animation is beautifully done, particularly showing in the scenes of the dreamworld.
