Review of Paprika (2006) by Dan F — 20 Aug 2012
While certainly a very beautiful film, Paprika is little more than a linear whodunit thinly disguised by a gimmick that allows the animators to push the boundaries of human imagination without bending the confines of the story.
A precursor to Inception and treading familiar concepts, its flaw is its reliance on complex visuals to cover up a very basic and flat story. It is gorgeous though.
