Satoshi Kon's final work, Paprika is bright and dark at the same time. Kon's talent for directing is well sampled in this fun trip in the dream world. Christopher Nolan might have at least smelled this one for his Inception.

Very normal at times, but very strong and unusual at others, the movie gets to confuse the watcher and take him/her to the top of suspense, just as in Kon's debut and masterpiece, Perfect Blue. Paprika is a great epitaph for one of the best japanese directors ever.

When master Satoshi died, he went straight to the Animation Masters place in heaven, where at least for now, he might be very lonely.
