Review of Papillon (1973) by Michelle W — 25 Jan 2009
Having heard of this movie since I was young, finally had the chance to catch it. It's definitely far different from stories like Shawshank Redemption and Monte Cristo, as Papillon didn't succeed in gaining his freedom in his first, second or even third try of his escapes. It's really cruel of those who cheated him and his fellow prison mates out of their money, but I guess that's reality for you.
I really should go and get the book to better understand some part of the story that I didn't quite grasp from this movie. Like why did the locals of Hondura suddenly left him behind, as they don't seem like the nomadic tribes, etc.
