Review of Papillon (1973) by Andrew I — 11 Nov 2013
Papillon is a film that constantly changes gears and heads in directions that are impossible for the viewer to predict. Schaffner is 100% successful in taking us on the journey of these two protagonists.
We feel there frustration and we wish for the liberation. This is due to strong character development and two tremendous performances from McQueen and Hoffman.
