Review of Paperhouse (1988) by Martin A — 18 Apr 2010
Original and well made supernatural film about a girl who draws a house on a sheet of paper, and then when she goes asleep enters the house and encounters a boy living there. The first two thirds of the film are very good, it's a nice spooky story, but then the final third sort of becomes a romantic drama.
I didn't mind the way it ended, but I would have preferred if it stuck with the whole supernatural aspect of the film, particularly spending more time on the "man with no face". Regardless, it's a creative film with two good child actors and some nice supporting actors as well.
