Review of Paper Towns (2015) by Brianna B — 25 Jul 2015
Overall, it is a good production and a very decent adaptation of the book. The movie fails to have the impact it could have had due to the poor casting of the character Margo. The movie needed a young woman who radiated charisma, bravado, and an air of not giving a damn, in other words a total bad ass.
Cara Delevinge is not that young woman. A young Jennifer Lawrence would have been perfect in the role. Alas, because Delevinge cannot cast that spell of mystery and attraction, we don't understand Quentin's obsession with her, and the entire movie hinges on that.
Such a shame, because it could have been an outstanding movie.
