Review of Paper Heart (2009) by Brett B — 29 Dec 2009
Charlyne Yi is hilarious and wonderful in this interesting take on a love story. Instead of getting the usual mix from the genre, Paper Heart actually takes a documentary approach within the settinf of the film for Charlyne to find what love really is while during the process being in a relationship.
Michael Cera is a nice addition as Charlyne's boyfriend and Jack M. Johnson is likeable as he plays the role of director Nicholas Jasenovec. The interviews work well with the flow of the story and it's nice that the film doesn't change the name of the actors and not much of their personalities to make the film.
The film though should of had a bit more with Michael and Charlyne to help the film grow a bit more and maybe take an interview or two out. In the end though its a good romance film and the "ending" was pretty good as well.
