Review of Paper Heart (2009) by Jennifer B — 22 Feb 2010

Charlyene Yi is cute and interesting for sure. She's got an original, sincere charm and it shows in every scene she's in, especially in her animated sequences. The documentary interspersed with the mockumentary was an interesting choice but in the end I felt like the pacing of the mockumentary portion was a bit sluggish.

The third really picks up and it's got a unique ending. Does this flick present a new and complex perspective on love? Probably not. But it's a real interesting presentation. Ultimately I would only suggest this flick if you were looking for a slight deviation from the regular love story.
