Review of Paper Heart (2009) by Derrick S — 27 Feb 2010

I can see a friend of mine loved this film ... I had no such attachment to this film. There was some pre-release hype that Charlene Yi and Michael Cera were GF/BF ... but I'm not so sure if that was confirmed or not (I don't really care about Hollywood gossip).

All I can say is this film, to me, was a mockumentary -- wanna-be documentary but purely fictitious. There is character development ... but in a way that I don't feel any connection or care about the main characters.

Sure -- the topic is relevant to teenagers ... but the manner in which is it expressed in this film didn't generate too much interest. Perhaps I am getting too old to understand the nuances of this film.

Note: another film I got stuck on a plane and had nothing else to do.
