Review of Paper Heart (2009) by Emily M — 10 Apr 2010
I just saw this last night and I was impressed. While not filled with the special effects or action sequences (except for that last scene, of course), of this year's latest hits, the fact that it actually makes you FEEL is too good to pass up.
The mockumentary angle, where you're not sure what is real and what is just for the camera, is fun and keeps you invested. Plus, the topic is something that's on MOST people's mind. Can real love exist?
Charlyne Yi, who I'd never heard of before this, is crazily quirky, but fun to watch, and Michael Cera--awkward though he may be-- was sweet and held the role of leading man very well.
For anyone who, like Charlyne, has been raised to believe in the fairy tale romance only to have it explode in our faces... this is a movie to check out.
