Review of Paper Heart (2009) by Sabra E — 17 Apr 2010
The effort to enjoy this film was strenuous. First off, Charlyne Yi was more annoying than coming off as cute, or funny. Her giggling throughout scenes, after every line was torture.
It seemed Michael Cera did his best to humor the situation, acting to appear as if he wasn't acting--to appear interested romantically with a girl who looks and talks like an Asian marshmallow with glasses.
It just didn't pan out for me; and after the scene with the blender in the hotel room, the movie was unfinishable, I stopped it and moved on in search of something less contrived.
