Review of Paper Heart (2009) by Steve S — 09 Dec 2009
*** (out of four).
Part romantic comedy and part mockumentary, "Paper Heart" doesn't hit all its targets, but its efforts are commendable and appeal of Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera carry it through.
Charlyne Yi is a comic who decides to make a documentary about love. Sure that it will pass her by, she meets actor Michael Cera and they begin seeing each other. The relationship becomes strained by the constant presence of the cameras.
Along with the leads, I also liked the candid interviews by people who talk about their relationships with their loved ones. The puppets that act them out are not as endearing.
