This movie restored my capacity for believing that even those people perceived to be 'bigots' or 'rednecks' - in other words prejudiced - can educate themselves and achieve something really beautiful.
The movie exposes your own prejudices in process, which is pretty amazing. Helps that this movie was directed by two guys who went to my HS about ten years ago: 4 stars.
