Review of Pan's Labyrinth (2006) by Marianthy R — 23 Apr 2013
Dark, unrelenting in both reality and fantasy, this fairy tale is about violence and all the forms it can take, as well as the choices we make. From sadistic, self-hating Vidal to his victim wife, to the hidden heros helping the guerrillas under the Captain's nose, to Ofelia and what the Faun tells her she must do - everyone has choices and has to bear the consequences.
And when you choose well, it's only you who'll know...
