I should probably love this film a lot more than I do, since it mixes the fantasique elements of faerie stories by men that I love like George MacDonald and C.S. Lewis and mixes it with incredibly dark mythological stuff.
I just couldn't really love the film by the end of it, maybe I just can't really get into Del Toro's mix of elements. I think the film was too suffocatingly dark. Anyway, it's certainly well made and superb piece of cinema, just not my cup of tea.
