Review of Panic Room (2002) by Michelle W — 16 Nov 2009
There were some interesting naes attached to this film, Jodie Foster, Forest Whitaker, David Fincher, etc, so I had alot of interest in this film.
I liked the use of camera. The lack of cuts, and the long slow movements created tension and it almost felt like we were watching through the eyes of someone who was there. Very creepy and perfect for a thriller.
Jodie Foster has never let me down, neither has Forest Whitaker and Jared Leto suprised me with a great inspired performance. But the characters were so stupid and this film had more plots holes than a cheese grater. I dont demand total realism from a film, but when it distracts, then it's a problem.
I liked parts, confused by others, really it is just it's total stupidity in places that lets it down, and made it much less than scary.
