Review of Panic Room (2002) by Nancy L — 10 Jul 2010
Panic Room, one of the most amazing movies I have ever seen in my life. The suspense is perfect. All actors are at the top-of their game in this 2002 psychological thriller. Jodie Foster plays a recently-divorced Meg Altman, a thirty-something woman in New York, moving into a 4-story "TownStone" with her daughter, Sarah (played by now famous Kristin Stewart). The performance is riveting and heart-wrenching.
Personally, I became so attached to young diabetic Sarah, and how Burnham cared for her, vowing earlier not to hurt anyone. I watched in 4 times in one night once, it almost never gets old. The thought of having a room to go to, to be safe in your house, and your intruders knowing about it... has to be terrifying. And so it is for Meg and Sarah. I would recommend this to anyone who loves thrillers of any kind. The movie will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat at all times. There is not much more I can say... why don't you watch it for yourself?
