Review of Panic Room (2002) by Evan C — 03 Aug 2010
Not perfect, but it's a damn good movie. Just like all action/suspense films there's stuff that is a little over the top and unrealistic, and this movie has those moments, but its still fun to watch.
Honestly I think the plot is quite cheesy but I was always wondering what would happen next. The plot is not very predictable either, which is one of the strongest points of the film. I know there was a lot of hype for this movie, and it falls slightly short of how good I thought the movie would have been.
But it was a lot fun to watch! Jodie Foster is a pretty good actress by today's standards, and her best role by far is in The Silence of the Lambs. You won't see that award winning performance in here, but she still does a great acting job throughout the movie.
She also always seems to play the strong woman in distress persona in all of her movies, and this is one of them. But, Forest Whitaker is the best actor in this movie, but that's only my opinion. His character is quite interesting, and you can really connect to him well.
I don't know too much about the director or the other members of the cast, except I did not like the little girl, Kristen Stewart, I found her to be a pretty poor actress. Overall, this movie is fun to watch even though it is kind of cheesy, this is a much watch for all action/suspense fans.
