Review of Panic Room (2002) by Cale B — 20 Mar 2014
Panic room had the potential to be a gritty, intense, scary independent thriller. However the film ends up feeling too soft and completely un-engaging.
Jared Leto's performance of a eccentric yet reasonable psychopath is probably the best thing about the film and once he's gone the film starts to feel a bit like home alone with all the unoriginal movie tropes we have come to expect from a modern thriller.
Had so much potential. Shame.
