David Fincher is the man who made fight club and se7en which are all some of my favorite all time movies. So when I checked the list of movies that he directed, this was the one that really stood out. For a director who is known for creativity, very little of that is actually to be found here.

Mind you it's not a bad movie just forgettable and for a David Fincher movie that's disappointing. The plots simple, a family movies into a new house that has a panic room built in, and on that same night three criminals break into the house steal from a safe.

The family finds out and camps out in there, but the twist is that the safe is also in the panic room, so things begin to get shitty for everyone. The legendary Jodie foster and young Kristen Stewart are the main leads but there never developed so you don't really give a fuck emotionally.

Then there's the three criminals, none that I know off except for Forest Whitaker and oddly enough he's the only person I really felt any emotional connection to. The dialog is shitty with the criminals acting stupid and just not communicating logically and soon you'll figure out what's going to happen, and Jodie Foster seemed like she was just phoning it in with a emotionally dead performance.

Still, it's a solid movie with really decent action that will hold your attention even though some parts are really cheesy and the disappointingly average ending, it's still a good movie to show and entertain friends.
