Review of Panic Room (2002) by Matt C — 10 Apr 2014

Panic Room is an impressive Home Invasion thriller although it's nowhere near as good as David Fincher's Se7en but at least this movie works. The plot of this film is about a single mother Meg Altman who is divorced to her husband and she and her daughter Sarah move to a house in New York, But soon Meg and Sarah discovered that their house has been invaded by three criminals and after locking themselves in the Panic Room the two must find a way to call for help in order to arrest the criminals in their home.

This is a very good movie to be honest and Fincher still manage to show proof that he's a talented director when he made this film thanks to David Koepp's script which is well paced. One of the great things about Panic Room is that the movie has a fantastic setting and I love the design of the house in the film and David Fincher's ideas seriously worked.

The other things I like about this movie is that the film is very tense and thrilling at the same time and there are loads of scenes in the film that are memorable in the movie. Plus I love the outstanding cinematography of Conrad W.

Hall and Fincher collaborator Darius Khondji. And the music by Howard Shore is superb. Also the zoom in and zoom out CGI is awesome. Now the acting here is fantastic all of the casts did a very good job with their performances in the film.

Jodie Foster and Kirsten Stewart did an amazing job with their performances in the film as the two lead characters same for the rest of the like Forest Whitaker who delivers a superb performance as a criminal who doesn't hurt people.

Jared Leto's performance outstanding and the rest of the casts did the same thing as well. Director David Fincher did a very good job with his work on the movie and he manage to turn David Koepp's script into a superb thriller with loads of tense and thrilling scenes that are extremely memorable and well crafted.

Overall Panic Room is a superb thriller from start to finish and it is one of the best Home Invasion films ever made. This movie gets an 8/10. David Fincher you are one helluva genius.
