Review of Panic Room (2002) by Simon T — 11 Apr 2015
A weak, often implausible locked room thriller, redeemed by bravura direction from David Fincher. When Fincher has a good screenplay - Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac - he's untouchable. Here, he expends all his energy papering over the cracks with zappy camerawork and shrill performances.
Good understated score by Howard Shore, and terrific opening titles.
