Review of Panic Room (2002) by Phillip D — 17 Jul 2016
In the vein of Life Aquatic, Only God Forgives and Biutiful, Panic Room is Fincher's true misfire, due every great director. It isn't that Fincher doesn't give it a go and surely, the visuals and tension of Panic Room go a long way for the film.
However, the logic quickly breaks down and without the sharp dialogue and plot twists that define a great Fincher work, the movie ultimately disappoints, although it isn't entirely unentertaining by any means.
