Review of Panic in the Streets (1950) by Andrew S — 27 Nov 2007
I understand it's importance to Film Noir and I understand the influence that Kazan had on the genre/style (whatever you want to refer to Noir as) however in general I just found the acting to be unconvincing, with the exception of Palance and Zero.
Both those two, played excellent roles and I thoroughly enjoyed their parts. The plot however was lacking and things just didn't seem to add up(the inconsistencies regarding the spreading of the disease for example).
It was a fun film, I just expected it to have more substance.
