Review of Pandorum (2009) by Gareth M — 23 Oct 2010
A film that dips equally into the sci-fi, horror and action genres, and fails on all three counts. It opens with an first act that is set almost completely in a small dark tunnel and our two leads scramble about talking crap while the viewer gets eye strain, then tries to emulate Event Horizon by introducing a horror element that plays its hand way to early and winds up being boring, badly acted action occansionly broken up by long, dreary moments of exposition.
As soon as the characters start talking (totally out of context) about a condition that causes space travellers to freak out and see things about 10 minutes in, the misguided writers and directors have just spelled out the rest of the film, further wasting the time of anyone who got this far in.
