Review of Pandorum (2009) by Aubrey T — 28 Jan 2011
So my dad kept telling me that we have to watch it (keep in mind, we are both long time sci-fi and horror fans and united most with the Aliens series- we could probably quote a bunch of it together). He finally called me over and I watched it with him (it was his third time) and damn was it good.
It was really a great combo of Aliens and Event Horizon with some twists and underlying meaning. Any true sci-fi and/or horror lover will not be disappointed. It's probably one of my new favorite movies.
The mutants were very well crafted. The writers were also very logical about things. The cryotubes are an example (similar to Aliens...they took a few things from Aliens but in a good way). What Aliens didn't show with the cryotubes is the wear and tear the cryotube would realistically have on the body and mind.
Pandorum showed that. I thought it was kick ass. Plus I'm a fan of the main character, after seeing him in The Messenger. A must watch for sci-fi and horror lovers.
