Review of Pandorum (2009) by Todd L — 08 Nov 2010
Though it owes much to "Alien" and "Event Horizon", I enjoyed this film quite a bit. The imagry is interesting, dark, and scary and the science fiction elements are fun. (I'm a sucker for anything involving astronauts waking up from years of hypersleep).
The ending was muddled and silly and odd in tone after the first 2/3 of the movie setting a violent and scary feel. The movie took a turn for the worse when the characters encounter the ships "cook" and it never recovered as the restraints shown by the director are thrown out and all sorts of crazy silliness ensues.
