Was this film horrible, No. A bit odd, when they start breaking out into song with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Blitzkrieg Bop", then Yes. But the imagery was completely fantastical.
Levi Miller was a joy to watch on screen, and Hugh Jackman's villain, well ,he would best any opponent in the Thunderdome. Did my 9 year old daughter enjoy it, yes, and that is all that matters. Young children may be frightened by the dark tone, but humor thrown in lightens the tone and even had my daughter chuckling at several scenes.
Go to a matinee or just wait for the DVD.
