Review of Pan (2015) by Patty C — 22 Oct 2015
It was good fun. I still don't get the flying ship thing, but at least in a realm of fairies it is more believable than it was in that awful musketeers movie! It is a good prequel and there is a lot of comedy elements.
Blackbeard is portrayed as evil and literally does make children walk the plank from a flying ship. It seemed over the top and unpleasant, making it less suitable for younger viewers. The nun running an orphanage is also over the top wicked and seems to take Holywoods root down the typical portrayal of people of faith as completely crazy or evil, which is a tiresome stereotype.
However, that aside it was an entertaining film, with thankfully only one song.
