Peter Pan is one of the all time great stories. Unfortunately, this is not. The plot itself is weak, something about how his mom abandoned him to protect him, beyond stereotypical. The guy that played hook was the most one dimensional character ever, with horrible one liners that perhaps twice got a laugh. Blackbeard, the villain of the movie, was boring and lacked any depth. The boy himself was decent, but that was about it. This movie is all CGI and action scenes, and not even good action scenes at that. This could have been another interest chapter, like Hook, but it failed completely. The basic plot could have worked all right if it ironed out the kinks, but the characters and over the top graphics ruined it. Worse of all was the Nirvana song sung by hundreds, Kurt Cobain rolled over in his grave with that one. Maybe that was what made him commit suicide, he knew what the creators of Pan had planned. I would have blown my brains out too.
Other lowlights, the clown character that looked nothing like a pirate, and was in perhaps three scenes. Also, hero falling in love with savage tribal lady, that hasn't been done before.
Stay home, watch Hook, laugh and be amazed, because this did not do it. Thanks for ruining my child hood.
