Review of Pan (2015) by Brian J — 16 Nov 2015
Pan is a atrocity against everything Peter Pan should be. Peter Pan should be fun, entertaining, and make you want to be a kid again. This movie does none of those things. All it does is use a horrible script to attempt to tell a story that leads up to a CGI fest climax with a predictable and annoying ending.
The movie's performances are all horrible except Hugh Jackman, but his character is a joke from the second he starts singing Nirvana. The flying in "Hook" from 1991 looks more realistic than the flying in this movie.
Some aspects of the movie try to be artsy, but come off as over-the-top or unnecessary. Captain Hook has a few good one liners but Garrett Hedlund couldn't live up to the task of becoming this iconic character.
One of the cheesiest endings I've ever seen in a movie, and not worth your time or money in any regard.
