Review of Pan (2015) by Darth B — 25 Dec 2015
Wow! I don't think I've ever been so opposed to critics' opinion, as well as the general public, considering how big of a flop this film was. I am not a huge Joe Wright fan, but thought this film was perfect for what it was.
The acting was great with a very respectable cast and impressive debut from Levi Miller. The visuals were breathtaking, the story, though obviously not the focus of the film or something that the public demanded (Peter Pan origin story? Okay, then), was enjoyable.
The true star here is the spectacle and the wonder, especially when viewed through the eyes of a child. I am a fan, and hope others will take a chance on Pan, despite its negative reception, and be enthralled in the wonder and nostalgia that envelopes the film.
B+.
